There were plans to hold the pre-release event of Kalki 2898 AD in Amaravathi, driven by the film’s producer, Aswini Dutt. He envisioned this event as a way to enhance the image of Andhra Pradesh’s new capital, especially with the TDP now in power.
However, insider reports reveal that Prabhas firmly opposed this proposal, concerned that associating the event with Amaravathi might politicize both the film and himself, which he deemed unfavorable amidst fanfare.
Prabhas recommended holding the event in Hyderabad instead. He made it clear that if the producer insisted on Amaravathi, he would not attend the event.
Consequently, considering Prabhas’s stance, the production company decided to cancel the Amaravathi event. Officially, they cited concerns about the monsoon season and the potential for rain to disrupt the event due to inadequate infrastructure.
